Alongside their sweet, flowery fragrance, lychee is thought to be beneficial to the skin thanks to the presence of antioxidants and Vitamin C.

The lychee is native to southern China, where the plant flourishes along rivers and by the coast. Preferring a subtropical climate, lychee is now grown across South and Southeast Asia and further afield. Once established, the trees can live for hundreds of years, bearing fruit for multiple centuries. Part of the soapberry family, the lychee tree's fruit has a reddish-coloured, hard, scaly skin. Inside, you will find a fleshy edible layer with a distinctly floral scent and flavour and a large hard seed at its centre.

What are the benefits of lychee?

Vitamin C helps to keep the skin looking bright.
Antioxidants can aid skin health by protecting the skin from the damage caused by free-radicals.

Where do we source our lychee?

Nearly all of our* fresh fruit and vegetables are purchased from the same specialist distributor that Lush UK has been working with since 2005. Depending on the time of year, they source products from different countries to try and have availability all year round. They work hard to supply as many organic products as possible and provide the highest quality available the rest of the time.

*With several manufacturing sites across the globe, this information may vary depending on where your Lush products were made.
